With only an hour till competition Tom Parsons was trying to get medical clearance ti ride on his broken leg. An hour and fifteen minutes later, his first ever X Games Gold Medal was around his neck.
“I’ve been working towards this moment for years,” Parsons said. “I cannot express how much this means to me. This represents the hard work, the passion and certainly makes up for the injuries through the years. I’m blessed to be able to do what I love and the fans showed me some love today awarding me this medal.”
The Moto X Best Whip competition features six riders in a six minute jam session format to throw their most stylish whips. with the gold medal, decided entirely by fans through Twitter.
